There are a lot of wedding photography styles out there, and while people in the industry may know inside these styles they are confusing for couples. Also, remember that you are not only choosing one style of photography, but different types of wedding photography can make different demands on your time on your wedding day.

Taking the style of photography you want in your wedding boils down to three things. What style images do you want, how much time do you want to spend with a photographer on your wedding day, and most importantly, your own personality and comfort in front of the camera.

Traditional (or Front) Wedding Photography
Many people think of traditional wedding photography as endless sloppy group photos where everyone looks as rigid as aboard. Worse is that different collections of people last forever. I think traditional wedding photography has a fashion to get down to, but for most wedding photographers the actual working outline is still the same. Photos can be more stylish but the actual experience on the day is very similar for the bride and groom.
There is always a trade-off between the work a photographer does and the time it takes to shoot. Taking more formal photos will take longer to set up and achieve. Any photographer who does artistically rendered work will need a certain amount of time to do their best work. It is important that you find out how much time it will require, and work out how it will fit into your day. There are photographers who spend a few hours on formal shots. Make sure that you are happy to give that amount on your wedding day. If you are not so comfortable in front of the camera, then you may find this type of photography more difficult. Reportage Wedding Photography
If all of the traditional photographs are about to be photographed, the report is the opposite of wedding photography. It depends on capturing those moments as they occur, and is more like a fly-on-the-wall documentary. This form of wedding photography means that the photographer spends most of his time in the background, and so it has become increasingly popular with couples. Marriages are also less formal than they used to be. While both of these approaches may appear polar opposite, in reality, most wedding photographers will offer a mixture of these two styles. There are not many wedding photojournalists who do not shoot at least some formal photos and traditional wedding photographers will also shoot informal photos. Find out what proportion each photographer likes to shoot, and better still ask them what they like to shoot the most - chances are this is what they do best.
Vintage wedding photography
Vintage wedding photography is a style that has recently come into vogue but can be increased in many ways. Using old film cameras during an old wedding can mean anything, from a post to a different approach to producing 'vintage' looking digital files.
There are some great photographers out there, but keep in mind that if you're getting files that are heavily edited in a certain style, you run the risk of looking at your photos after a few years. I personally want at least a few wedding shots on film if I were hiring a vintage-style photographer, I'm not a huge fan of faded things.
Editorial wedding photography
This wedding style is inspired by the fashion editors of glossy magazines, it is the best it can produce stunning high-end images. Producing it successfully on the wedding day requires the photographer to be highly organized, and will probably need an assistant to help set some shots beforehand, although this will depend on his or her style. Do your research to ensure that the time requirements for this type of shooting fit with your plans. If you really like this type of photography, but don't want to give it too much time on your wedding day, consider booking a separate photo session after the wedding.
Often described as a junk or grooming dress shoot, a separate photo session can be the best way to achieve the wedding day and you'll love the photos without losing a large part of your wedding day. It also means that you and your photographer can choose the ideal time of day for the right lighting and it is likely to rain as it rains. In many countries, particularly the US, high-end wedding photography is evolving towards three shoots: engagement shoots, wedding day, and an editorial session. It is not necessary that all this should be done in a day.
Artistic or Fine Art Wedding Photography
Essentially an evolution of traditional wedding photography, this type of photography is a contemporary take on the traditional set of traditional photographs, although both of these are words that have been used to some extent by the photographic community, so again their research Do it At its best this style can produce moving romantic images, but some photographers may use the same pose, so it can feel a bit impersonal.
